- To binge drink/ a binge drinker 과음하다, 술을 많이 마시다/ 술고래, 술꾼

(한자리에서 과하게 물처럼 마시는것. 사교적인 수준이 아니라 술독에 빠진 수준으로 사는 수준)

ex) Bob became a binge drinker in a college, so he decided to get sober

밥은 대학에서 술꾼이 되어버려서, 금주를 하기로 했다

 

- He's back on the wagon 더 이상 술을 마시지 않다

(wagon은 마차 같은 것인데 마차 탈 때는 술에 취하면 안됨/ off the wagon은 술을 끊었다 다시 마신다는 뜻)

ex) He had quit drinking three years ago, but last night he fell off the wagon

그는 3년 전에 술을 끊었지만, 어젯밤에 다시 마시기 시작했다

ex) I had been on the wagon for a few years

나는 몇년 동안 금주 중이었어
